David Austin Rose catalog.. You can request one online.. I just hope you don't take as long as I did deciding.. I was like a kid in a candy store..

ReplyDeleteI wish I could help...I have a beautiful climbing rose at the lake but I'm terrible at remembering names. Plus, you need to get one that is suitable for your area and climate...very important. You might ask at your local nursery.

ReplyDeleteLove love roses. One of my favorite is Double Delight but it depends on the style you prefer. For modern roses that perform like antique roses,cabbage roses,repeat bloomers, and scent find David Austin roses.

ReplyDeleteKoralee! Your blog post just barely came up on my list! I too just came in from being outside and it is glorious my friend! A climbing rosebush? You and I both want one! The only variety suitable for OUR crazy climate is the William Baffin; it is a gorgeous pink but grows very HUGE! I think for your climate, you could probably go for some of the lovely white varieties. Do tell me what you decide on! Love your photo!

ReplyDeleteAnd for an idea Clematis are great flowers to grow and it climb and it gives you beautiful flowers, you have just have to chose your colours. Plant 2 colours it is better.

The first rose that bloomed in our garden was an amazing white rose called Lady Banksaia. It you look back a few posts on my blog you will see it. It is gorgeous on top of our trellis. Isn't it fun to see your garden grow. We planted an Italian plum tree about 3 summers ago and this year I think we will get a nice crop of plums.

Frost here yesterday....brrrr. We don't have a garden any more so have to content myself with a few plants on the balcony. I love the old-fashioned shrub roses (they're the one plant I miss from the house) but have no experience with climbers I'm afraid.
