  4. Dear Koralee,
Iceberg climbers are pretty, this is what I have in front.. I would suggest looking through a
David Austin Rose catalog.. You can request one online.. I just hope you don't take as long as I did deciding.. I was like a kid in a candy store..

  6. I wish I could help...I have a beautiful climbing rose at the lake but I'm terrible at remembering names. Plus, you need to get one that is suitable for your area and climate...very important. You might ask at your local nursery.

Love the little quote...you always make me smile!

    Jane

  7. I love David Austin roses, I had over 75 roses when we lived in Nelson. I love Getrrude Jykell, here is a good site for his climbers! https://www.davidaustinroses.com/

  8. Koralee,

Love love roses. One of my favorite is Double Delight but it depends on the style you prefer. For modern roses that perform like antique roses, cabbage roses, repeat bloomers, and scent find David Austin roses.
Cecile Brunner, is another favorite. Check out one of my favorite outlets: www.antiqueroseemporium.com

Hot hot here in Southern California. I wilt over 80 degrees. xxxoo e

  14. Koralee! Your blog post just barely came up on my list! I too just came in from being outside and it is glorious my friend! A climbing rosebush? You and I both want one! The only variety suitable for OUR crazy climate is the William Baffin; it is a gorgeous pink but grows very HUGE! I think for your climate, you could probably go for some of the lovely white varieties. Do tell me what you decide on! Love your photo!

  15. Everything is planted too in my garden
And for an idea Clematis are great flowers to grow and it climb and it gives you beautiful flowers, you have just have to chose your colours. Plant 2 colours it is better.
    Tell me what you chose???
    Miss :)

  16. The first rose that bloomed in our garden was an amazing white rose called Lady Banksaia. It you look back a few posts on my blog you will see it. It is gorgeous on top of our trellis. Isn't it fun to see your garden grow. We planted an Italian plum tree about 3 summers ago and this year I think we will get a nice crop of plums.

  17. So many choices for climbing roses, I know you will pick a perfect one for your home.

  18. That thought is quite true. Something David Austin would be great for a rose. Someday I would love to grow their rose called "Falstaff" (among others).

  19. Hi Koralee,

Such a wonderful quote and photo dear friend.
Your garden must be looking gorgeous and your 3rd summer in the house! the time has gone fast.
I have on order a climbing rosebush and it is called Cecil Brunner - a beautiful pale pink small rosebuds. Very sweet.
    Happy Sunday and new week

  21. Frost here yesterday....brrrr. We don't have a garden any more so have to content myself with a few plants on the balcony. I love the old-fashioned shrub roses (they're the one plant I miss from the house) but have no experience with climbers I'm afraid.

  24. You are so right -- being optimistic really is better. Nothing good comes out of negative thoughts. I'm happy to hear your garden is coming along. I have a beautiful, and very old, yellow climbing rose that I received from a sweet friend several years ago. I hope you find the perfect one to make you happy :-) Have a wonderful day.

  25. Oh absolutely! Optimism is by far the best way to go! Positivity, yes! Have you had your plus signs today? (Thankyou Prince for my most motivating song lyric!!) Our garden, which previous owners hadn't touched for 5 years, is a voyage of discovery, now we are hacking down brambles and finding some treasures! More on my blog soon . . . . . !
