~ Blast Off ~

I adore September
For many many reasons
A major one being
I get to go back
School is In
After 10 weeks of holidays
{not just my my kids but for me too}

Yahoo

No students yet
This is teacher week
{where we can still wear our blue jeans...another reason to yahoo about}

I will be getting ready for my Students
Who arrive next week
{ I so love the excitement of seeing the students on the first day}
My apple and pencils will be on my desk
Nothing beats
new pencils
new crayons
new books
new backpacks
new lunch kits
new clothes
and
new students
I really do feel blessed that I love my job so much
{elementary school is #1 in my books}

Another reason to LOVE September...
A is for Apple
those crunchy sweet apples are ready to eat
{tree image...Martha Stewart Living Oct. 1998
a is for apple image...Martha Stewart Kids Fall 2005
other images...mine}

Clip art images I adore and will use this year
{all from Martha Stewart Kids Fall 2005...permission given to use by magazine}

Moms {and Dads} ... Sent me your children

I am ready

For Blast Off

{for the first few weeks anyways...until cold season sets in...achoooooo!}

Hi,Koralee,
I did just what you are doing this week for many, many years. I recently retired this past May from teaching after 33 years. I am glad you are so looking forward to your students and a new school year. I am enjoying the slower pace of retired life. Your blog is very pretty. Thanks for stopping by for a visit at Bunny Cottage. Have a happy week. Vicki

I'm more and more thinking I would like to be a teacher. You may have swayed it for me.
I have a book by the illustrator who did those back to school pictures, it's called mouk and is wonderful.
I like September because it's my birthday, but I am unfortunately not looking forward to going back to studying.

Ooo wonderful! I will put yours up right away. I also have a rectangular button which is a similar size to your bird button without the frame (ie vertical)
thank you for your comments which were so sweet. Good luck with back to schoolness, my boyfriend's just become a teacher. I think he needs some of your enthusiasm. He seems mostly scared!

hi Koralee,
What grade do you teach? My brother is a teacher. He is high school though. He interned at a nice school (Trumbull HS), but then requested a tough inner city school (Hillhouse HS in New Haven, CT). Hopefully your school is nicer than that though.

Hello darling,
I am back and have missed you terribly!! I have a post on my blog that explains my lengthy absence but enough of that, I just wanted to stop by personally to thank you for the sweet birthday wish you left Cristina and to let you know that your kindness meant the world to us both. I am now off to read the posts that I have missed and to look around your gorgeous blog.
