~ FIRST DAY BACK AT IT ~

Summer is done....
Found on my patio this morning
a fallen maple leaf
between my
rained on flip flops
how ironic
for the
first day back to school
for my
daughters

... no more bare feet and reading what you want ...when you want

...no more eating whenever you feel like it

I dread bag lunches
I find my creativity is lacking at 6am
I know...I know...
I should be making lunches the night before!
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!??

A good thing ....
all that after school snacking!

My girls had a great first day back
considering all the worries
one of them had
about entering high school for the very first time
visit here to see a family celebration that we had in June for this daughter of mine!

It is hard to believe that this time of year has come so quickly! You mentioned not having ideas for school lunches. A blog friend of mine has some great ideas that might help a little: http://aliceandthemockturtle.blogspot.com/

Hello, Koralee,
I have been thinking about all of you folks as you start back to school. After 33 years, this was the first year I wasn't back in my classroom greeting new students. I must say, however, I have been enjoying my retirement so much. I sit in my pj's until noon and sip coffee. I know inspired teachers such as yourself will take up the mantle for me. Thanks for stopping by for a visit today. Sending prayers your way as you and your children start a new school year. Vicki

Hello Lovely Lady,

I hope your first day back wasn't too hectic and that the kids are easing you in gently :O)

Mine started their new school on Monday and proclaimed it was a 9.5 out of 10 as far as schools go. Phew, can't ask for more than that!

Now I spend my days trying to figure out how to fit North American furniture into a small Victorian cottage - with difficulty I think is the answer!

Have a lovely week petal,

B x

I loved the first day of school and the only time I was fearful was the first day of high school, I'm glad everyone had a great first day back. Love the photo of your sandals in the rain. I loved your daughters party, the favors were fabulous!

I looove the flip flop photo. It looks absolutely fabulous. What a perfect end to their summer. Though, it's sort of sad how our flip flops get forgotten.

First days back can be a worry. My daughter did not want to go back as the previous year was not a good one. She was very unsettled by the fact that they ended up having several teacher changes throughout the year! This year should be better! I love your pink dalhia post, so pretty. I used to not like them but now I do.

I love your photo collages. I remember being nervous about starting high school. I thought those feelings were long gone, but they are just about different firsts now. Especially when I have to appear before a new judge for the first time. Its high school butterflies all over again.

Oh... you make me miss those days! My mom was not nearly as cool though. I was always the weird kid with alpha sprouts in my sandwiches, and carrots instead of chips. ;)

Hi Koralee!
Hope you had a great first week!
I'm exhausted from not sleeping well the night before the kids came. I kept waking every hour- thinking I would surely sleep through the alarm ;o)
My classes (6th & 7th grade) are nice (a few challenges from last year are in class again, so, we'll see)!
Here's to a new year and may God bless us one and all!
