Sweet finds, Koralee! My first thought was garland for your Christmas tree! Clasp one to another and voila! Unique, beautiful, and easy peasy lemon squeezy!! I've been gathering pearl necklaces for mine. :)
Blessings!

I have been toying with the idea of making garland for Christmas out of old jewelry strands such as those.........

or how about around mason jars with votive lights inside for your patio?

oh the possibilities Koralee!!!

I know someone who makes mosaics from everyday items. Light swtiches, mirrors, mailboxes, etc... She collects all sorts of bits and pieces to include in the mosaic design.
I do like the previous commenters idea of decorating a Christmas tree with old jewelry.

HI KORALEE,
THEY ARE LOVELY JUST THE WAY THEY ARE. YOU COULD TAKE THEM A PART AND MAKE A LOVELY VINTAGE LOOKING PIN, OR COVER A TINY WOOD BOX WITH THEM, I DON'T REALLY KNOW, BUT THEY ARE PRETTY. RIZZI

Pretty to decorate a small rosemary Christmas tree with, or entwined with pine boughs on a fireplace mantel.

For me, it's an easy question - I'm a crazy quilter so I would take them apart and sew them onto whatever I'm working on. Vintage jewelry is a great source of beads you can't afford to otherwise own.

Hi Koralee. Good scores. I use jewellery to dress the base of candles when the candle is a bit too small for the candle plate. I did a post on it if you're interested. It was heaps of fun! http://tranquiltownhouse.blogspot.com/2010/05/simple-solution-for-small-annoyance.html
Hope you're having a lovely weekend, and lovely shout-out to you from Jackie too!

KORALEE...SO MANY BAUBLES...SO LITTLE TIME!!!
i loved the memory of Cinderella and the birds draping the beads over the dress form :D
years ago i went on a christmas house tour and in one gorgeous home there was a large framed wallhanging with a velvet background and lovely broaches, bracelets, and necklases were formed into the shape of a christmas tree. i'll never forget how lovely it was...and how much i wanted it :D

Kate

Bead on!!!!!

I would probably repurpose them for different jewelry. Or maybe use them for trim on picture frames.

Brenda Pruitt said...

I think I might add them to some lamps. Either around the top of the base, or around the shades. Or perhaps hang them from a spot just above a mirror so they'd be reflected. Beauty is wonderful when you can see the image not just once, but twice!

Oh, I love the Cinderella image - takes me back to the magic of the story for me when I was little!

I think I would keep collecting them until I had enough to hang from the door frame (yes I was a child of the seventies : )

My Aunt used to have wooden beads instead of doors and I loved them - and these would be even more magical, methinks...

Hi Koralee...
those baubled strands would make wonderful handmade purse handles....wired of course for stifness...but how great would that look on a handmade bag?

i'd sport that, anyday!

K, Thank you for checking in on me while I was away. I appreciate that so very much, as it was a difficult trip. I intentionally left my comp behind, knowing that family business would not allow for time to write or blog, but I missed keeping in touch with you all! Thank you for taking the time to leave me a note of encouragement. Much love, C

Oh what fun treasures! I would use them to make fun hair clips :)

Martha said...

fill them in jars...or decorate candles...or hair clips are a great idea too...how wonderful!

If your in a daring mood, you can reconstruct one of the beads to make earrings and bracelets. Whatever is left over can be glued on combs to make them sparkle.
