I,too, love washing pretty dishes by hand...Sometimes,especially,when they've come from a secondhand purchase, and the dishes are dirty and dusty...Then,to see their true beauty revealed when they are washed! Thanks for the good thoughts and smiles for today :-)

I completely understand that!!

My hubby always tells me to stop buying plates that can't go in the dishwasher, i tell him that he doesn't have to wash them, so he should stop moaning!

I wash my "delicate" dishes by hand also, with love. I think washing dishes in one of those "calming" chores , like sweeping.

Good morning Sweet friend,
I actually like washing dishes (CrAzY...I know)
Didn't even own a dishwasher for the first 15 years of marriage...but have most definitely crossed over now.
Ya, one o'clock sounds fine. Am cleaning the studio today, so if I don't answer the door, just come around the back of the house...far side of the shop. See you soon!!!! R

When your dishes are that pretty, I get it! Plus, I like washing dishes by hand too. What a pretty picture. The suds are so clean and sparkling!

I have to admit that washing dishes by hand is not one of my favorite things. Right now, I have a box full of vintage cups & saucers waiting patiently for me to wash and display them. Maybe I will wash them this weekend and be glad that I did when I see them sparkling at me from their shelf! Thanks for the lovely post! xoxo Jina

it's that time of year again! I'm sorry I cannot support your love of handwashing dishes, maybe in a huge white farmhouse sink and if the dishes really are pink, maybe.

Good morning Koralee!
You know my fondest memories with my grandmother {she passed on when I was only 14} were of having tea with her pretty teacups and dishes. We would then spend the afternoon taking all the dishes out of her china cabinet, washing them, polish up the cabinet and put them all back in their places. My mother wanted me to have those dishes since they are such a heartfelt joyful memory of my Nonni. Aren't vintage dishes the prettiest kind of dishes ever?!
Wishing you a lovely weekend dear ♥
*xoxo* Maria

ONLY YOU, could make a chore that I have grown tired of, more appealing, when a tinge of pink and blue and BEAUTY radiate from within...oh Koralee, you are amazing; you are a poet of the simple things in life. You make them MORE IMPORTANT through your lens of not only your camera, but your heart....big hugs to you sweet and beautiful friend...LOOK UP! Anita

Dearest sweet koralee, i wish and hope one day i could be invited to your beautiful home! I just love all your gorgeous collection of plates and cups. They are so beautiful! I hand wash all my dishes too because we don't have a dish washer here and these machines are just not too popular around here. Have a lovely merry happy weekend and love to you!

This is so good for them also it hydrates the china so they don't chip as easy, they say you should do this twice a year....

That's wonderful, I remember my mother saying we always had to wash the good china by hand. I didn't like it as a little girl, of course, but now I appreciate it. My daughter even enjoys washing her little china plates in the 'big' sink with bubbles. :)

Hello Koralee!

A gorgeous image there..
I am one of those odd ducks who actually prefers washing all dishes by hand...especially those very dear ones. It's just a great opportunity to reflect and slow down time a bit.
And I do love those Starbucks red cups!

Thank you for the beauty!

Hugs,

GOOD MORNING SWEET FRIEND! Still doing dishes? WHY NOT? With dishes so pretty, who would not want to linger over pretty pink suds? AND I FOUND THE MOST WONDERFUL AQUA BLUE dish soap by Dawn!!!!

I LOVE YOUR NEW LOOK TO THE BLOG DEAREST! It looks as if you stretched the margins and now have a light blue/white background; I did the same months ago and I love it.

PEACE TO YOU THIS SUNDAY; I have laryngitis so it will be peaceful here today!

BISES, Anita

I kind of like hand washing dishes too, they don't get spotty that way. I always hand wash my favorite coffee cups. Speaking of red...I just bought a wonderful red coffee cup. Just a plain little thing, but it will be my Christmas cup for this year.

And yay Starbucks!

I do the same thing! Some of them are so old and have lasted so long without breaking that I just love to put warm soapy water in the sink and clean them. I do the same with old silverware. I always use a real vintage linen cloth to dry them! A little ritual that is theraputic!

flowersandhome said...

We don't have a dishwasher and therefore have to wash everything by hand. But I certainly wouldn't call you crazy for washing your lovely dishes by hand, I'd do it too if I had such beautiful dishes or cups, even if I would have a dishwasher ;-)
Bye,
Have a lovely new week,
Marian
