{beautiful souls}

I adore old confectionery and biscuit tins
I never pay more than a few dollars for them

they have so many wonderful uses
at Christmas I gathered a bunch for under the tree
they are perfect for gift giving.....no wrapping required

they may be old, scratched and dented
but they are still stunningly beautiful

While photographing these charmers
this quote popped into my mind........

I promise to keep on living as though I expect
to live forever.
Nobody grows old by merely living
a number of years.
People grow old only by deserting their ideals.
Years may wrinkle the skin,
but to give up interest wrinkles the soul.

I love the quote . . . which I just added to my collection, giving MacArthur the credit and you a mention because you "peak my interest."

I too collect tins and have several I could add to your collection. I have my favourites I decorate with at Christmas. I love to pack cookie goodies inside tins to give to friends . . . it reminds me of something my mom would do.

Be well . . . happy . . . and may there be no wrinkles to your soul . . .

Such pretty boxes! I love them.. I think it is always a good idea to use boxes or depending on the gift, sometimes I will buy a new tea towel, put the gift in, tie a pretty bow and there you are. The wrap is also a gift.

Oh, Koralee ... how beautiful! I have a collection of these old biscuit tins, too. In fact, I think I have one just like the flowered one at the very top of your first photo! My oldest sister and I used to visit a lot of antique shops in Lancaster, PA and we would often find such beauties there. I have also found some beautiful ones at a local flea market. They do add sparkle and joy to any space. Such a great idea to use them for containers for gifts! My heart leaps for joy every time I see you have posted something new to your blog! Thank you for the time and passion you put into it.

Hi Koralee!
These finds are definitely beautiful treasures! It must have looked like the Three Kings visited your home to have these tins under your tree! They do remind me of treasures from the Orient.

Your words and quotes today are so thoughtful... losing creativity and curiosity would surely wrinkle the soul.

I wonder if this is why we always feel 25 inside!

Thinking of you as you work toward your goals ~ and also about our school days!
{Whenever I smile at my fifth graders and their adorable nature, I always think of what you wrote me about loving this age group!}

Have a wonderful week, Koralee,

Maria

DEAR FRIEND!How was your day today precious? Are you also in the report card stage, or not yet? We are on semesters now, which is better than TRIMESTERS! Imagine? I cannot believe we had to do report cards THREE TIMES during the school year! But now just having two reports is enough!

How is your book organization coming along? There is so much FUN to be had and I wish you the energy to get as much out of this new year as you can. I cannot wait to see the fruit of your labor my dearest! NIGHT NIGHT KORALEE, Anita
