bunting for the season.....

I just needed to share the
 joy
of my sweet advent bunting
with you

I came up with the idea of using library card pockets
to hold
 sweet little trinkets
that help count down the days to Christmas

all I did was take the library card pockets
placed a little deer ornament
down on them as a stencil
and spray painted the pockets
making
 sweet little deer prints

then I made a bunting using scraps of fabric and lace
and attached the pockets to the bunting with clothespins
......added little numbers to countdown the days

I filled the pockets with
sweet trinkets
and
 carnations

which created one
darling of an advent calendar

{xox}

this is another one of my ideas you can
find in Matthew Mead's Holiday book

KORALEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all, I have worked subbing jobs two days in a row this week and I am exhausted! Secondly, I am loving this idea. I would say Koralee, that you are a master of making a huge impact with small things. BRAVO TO YOU. This took hardly any materials and could be used with things around the house (or school!) and it really makes the magic my dear. OH I AM GOING TO GO MAKE MYSELF A CUP OF TEA...which one, however? They are all so good.

Dearest heart, I wish you the most lovely day, whatever you are doing. Come by to visit my post IF you have a moment....a bluebird is just what I need today!

MUCH LOVE TO YOU and this is a fabulous idea! Anita

Koralee,

Such a charming twist on advent calendars. I would have never thought to use a bunting as an advent calendar display. I also like how you used the little deer as a stencil on your library pockets. I love little envelopes filled with goodies:)

Precious Koralee!YOU HAVE YOUR MOLLY!!!! You two must be having the best of times! Oh and you have a new computer now! Ruben needs a new one too, and luckily, it is his school that provides him one.

Are you baking? I cannot wait to bake this weekend! It will be the first time in months. I am having my dear friend over (I hope she can still make it on Sunday; we are due for another snow storm!) and I am going to make some FABULOUS chocolate gingerbread cookies!!! Let me see, I imagine you baking some sugar cookies and decorating them with sprinkles and draguées......hmmmmm....and then accompanying them with HOT CHOCOLATE and peppermint sticks to stir! Whatever you are doing with your beloved ones, I know you will create new and fun memories. Now here at 5:15am, I am going to go make some of that DELICIOUS TEA.....Santa's Surprise!!!!!

MUCH LOVE MY DEAR! Anita
