a saucer for
all reasons

there are no rules to
 serendipitous thrifting
{my term for finding treasures by accident.........having no plan whatsoever..........wandering to and fro}
all you need is an open mind and a few hours

I always try to remember mish-mash is best
{nothing needs to match and one item has many reasons to live}

something always seems to catch my eye
and I never come home empty handed
even if it is just
a pretty saucer for all reasons
they are very handy to have in the house
I use my growing collection of saucers for
 ~under my soap dispenser by my kitchen sink or as a soap dish
~as a butter dish
~to hold my earrings or other jewelry
~on my desk to organize my paper clips and little bits
~pile them up on the coffee-table to use as coasters
~great for collecting loose change and odds and ends
~on the hall table to hold your keys when you are coming and going
~hang a pretty collection on the wall
~my daughters use them for little snacks or dipping plates for ketcup or sauces
~ you can see how I used them to hold my votive candles here
or pillar candles here { I used one to hold my glitter for this project}
~glue them onto of old candlesticks for fancy treat pedestals
~or just stack them high....they really do look pretty stacked on a counter
~endless possibilities~
the glory is to just use them
 and if they break
go get more
they usually cost just pennies {.25 to .50 cents} without their cupmate
happy hunting
make it a good day

{xox}

GLORIOUS FINDS, the colors are happy, and dearest one, you are just one of the most creative people I know. You always encourage me with your creations, your vision.

HOW ARE YOU?

I have to run off; but I would love to know how things went....Anita

They're just gorgeous, Koralee--I love my mismatched plates & saucers, as well--my favorite things to use, in fact! And "serendipitous thrifting" is a perfect name for it--I'll have to switch to yours from my "junkin'"! Your way is MUCH prettier!

Wishing you the most serenipitously lovely day, dear friend!

Love all your ideas for these little odd saucers. I like them for a piece of toast or fruit in the morning. Also have a small teapot sitting on one by the stove with olive oil in it. They are great for holding candles too. Oh so fun, thanks for getting me thinking of other uses.

I chuckled when I started reading this post - guess what we spent most of yesterday doing? Yep - we hit five (yes, 5!!) thrift stores. Now I want to go back to look for saucers - what a great idea to use them for coasters!

Those are also great under a little pot of hyacinths or other bulbs. Do you have a Jade-ite one yet?

I love all your creative uses for all these pretty pieces of mismatched china! I love that look, where nothing really matches, but it just all seems to go together anyway.

Sweet one! Oh, I hear ya about the OVERLOAD of goodness during the holidays! Though I try to stay clear of too much sugar, there are other lovely things that I over do that leave me a bit sluggish!!!! I am not teaching this week, so I can relax and get myself geared up for the next project, but I need to get back to some kind of subbing schedule to warrant this "time off."

SENDING YOU LOVE and hopes for that much needed ENERGY YOU HAVE TO GIVE OUT! LOVE! Anita

Hello there! It's been ages since I popped over! How was your holiday? Lovely I hope? Life with a 9 month old is wonderful, exhausting and intense, hence my lack of blog posts lately. But! I'm always so happy to stop by your happy place and see what beautiful things you've posted. I miss thrifting! Used to do it all the time before the babe. I need to get back out there. The thrill of the hunt is indeed a good time!
xo friend!
