pie*ography...

*

{if your life was a pie.....what kind would you be?}

that is the question Jo Packham asked me
when she wanted me to contribute a pie recipe
for her new book

so this is what I came up with.....

Baked Raspberry
Pink Meringue Pie
with a
Rich Chocolate Crust

does this sound like me?

this book is filled to the brim with yummy sweet and savory pies
~a pie lover's dream~
pop on over here to take a closer look

if your life was a pie.......what kind would it be?

a wee little SHARING note......

Why my life is like my baked raspberry pink meringue pie with a rich chocolate crust ..............

Raspberries, sweet raspberries, little bundles of joy. My pie would have to be filled
with these little parcels of pure goodness. My pie, like my life, is filled with many sweet
blessings—oodles of little joys, like raspberries.
Of course, not every day is filled with sweetness. Just like the berries in my pie, not
every berry is perfectly sweet, plump, and juicy. There are some small sour ones and
old mushy ones. I cannot possibly pick out every bad berry before I make my pie; I
know the bad ones will cook up with the sweet juicy ones, and my pie will taste amazing
even with the bad ones still in. Just like life, the bad days get absorbed by the good days
when you take time to focus on the blessings all around you. There’s always more to be
thankful for than not. Finding the joys makes for one incredibly sweet life.
A rich chocolate crust combines perfectly with sweet raspberries. My life is rich in
spirituality, the foundation I live and grow by. If I did not have my feet planted firmly
on rich spiritual ground, it would be hard for me to recognize these blessings and joys
of mine. Spirituality and blessings go hand in hand, just like the firm pie crust that holds
the juicy berries in place.
What would life be like without a little bit of whimsical fun—hence the pink meringue
topping! I am happiest when surrounded by soft pinks, an oh-so-sweet girly color that
makes my world fanciful and fun. I love using my imagination to bring smiles to the
faces around me. And a raspberry pie topped with mile-high fluffy PINK meringue: now
if that doesn’t make you smile, nothing will.

weekend hugs {xox}

Oh my goodness, Koralee, you definitely are sweet raspberries with pink meringue. What a lovely way to describe life and a very pretty visual, too. Congratulations on your contribution to this charming book; another to add to my library.

If I were a pie it would be blackberry - always found in the countryside. Happy weekend to you! Hugs xoxo

The pie sounds beautiful but I got awfully sick from eating raspberries once, so haven't eaten them since. Such a shame they look so gorgeous. Any other berry is fine though!

If there were only one dessert in the world it would have to be pie. I love that you share spirituality and whimsy, the sour sweetened by the sweetness. Thanks so much. I think I would be a lemon meringue pie with the meringue being the whimsy and the lemon that tartness sweetened with sugar the meat of life.

How could I have missed this? I KNOW..I was out grocery shopping today and eating vanilla ice cream!!!!!!

THis is the cutest, the most adorable post. Oh dear, PINK MERINGUE! Let's see...if my life were a pie.....I would have to be any type of French tart. ANY KIND. The sublime tastes of ripe and seasonal fruit with a good and solid crust. Like you, a foundation upon which the light and sweet rests....this is such a darling post Koralee. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING TODAY! Anita

I love your pie and your story. You rock! If I had a favorite pie it would be pecan. It's got sweet and nutty savory and on top is pretty shiny and crunchy and underneath is gooey, buttery and sweet. My mom was renowned for her pies. Apple, cherry, apricot, peach, berry - and cream pies such as chocolate (all our favorite), banana, lemon, coconut. I love pie!
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Such a cute idea, Koralee. And your pie along with your sharing note was exactly what Jo Packham wanted for the book. You made a perfect choice for yourself, right down to color.
My pie would be lemon meringue. Sweet and tart. Just like me. :)

You sound deli(ghtful)(cious) Koralee :-)!!

Such a difficult question. I think you sound a bit like me. A meringue, yes, light and airy, but something warm and rich should be underneath. And on top colour, preferably flowers. Do you have any suggestions :-)?

Enjoy your new week! Only three more weeks to go!!!

Love Madelief x

What a great name for a book about Pies. I love pies OVER cakes any day.
Maybe I'd be Lemon Merigune (or however you spell it)
Lemony because I like to be edgy
But with a beautiful topping which would respresent my love of family and friends.
OR.....Banana Creme pie
Really....you want me to get started on all my love of pies.
