This makes me miss my kids and the good old days of the real tree. Now, we have to have artificial since it sits here while we are gone for Christmas. It is easier, less messy and looks perfect...but, it just isn't the same as that sap sticky, fragrant live tree.

I miss that a bit.we used to get a real tree when the girls were younger and at home.It was great fun.We would walk far and cut one down and come down off the mountain dragging the girls and the tree lol.

I put my 6 ft tree up in the dining room and my 4 ft tree up in my living room. The dining room tree is old fashioned with colored lights the living room one is mauve and silver balls with clear lights.

Have fun today!

I don't celebrate Christmas, but if I did I think I'd be too sad to chop down a tree. I'd probably use the most realistic fake one I could find. (Yup, you guessed it. I'm also a vegetarian!) I hope your holidays are filled with love, laughter, joy, and hugs.

BTW: Have I told you how much I love this blog? No? I didn't think so. ;-)

Awww..looks like you had a super time! LOVE that. I have yet to have the opp to go christmas tree hunting. Maybe someday. Right now, I am adjusting to a brand new life, in a brand new locale, with a brand new job and no family or friends close. Ugh!

LOVED reading your post today. It put a smile on my face and filled my heart with warmth.

Hi Koralee!
Love the evergreens... and the big wave hello from your family~ how fun! What a beautiful family! It's so nice to see families together ♥
We've had an artificial tree for a few years... I found a beautiful one at a garden shop that had that 'woodsy' look to it. (end of season sale :)
I know what you mean about feeling sad for the tree...
I always made myself feel better thinking that it was grown specifically for Christmas!
...to be adorned ...
...to be the bearer of light in our homes...
...a symbol of the light of Jesus among us...
...the light of the world...

Christmas Blessings to you and your family~

You even cut the tree yourselves! What fun memories for your kids! I always think that would be fun to do & then we always jsut pickl one up on the way home from somewhere & think...maybe next year. Well now I am feeling inspired & thinking "we have our big one but we stll need the little one for our family room." Oh rats the moment just passed & now I am remebering how cold it is outside :) I suppose I could alwasy send hubby & the kids :) Except I am pretty sure while hubby is cutting the tree my 2 year old would bet lost in the trees....back to maybe next year...but I am a little good jealous of you guys!
