{I've been boondoggled}

How can something packaged up so
pretty in pink
taste so bad?
{yucky-boo-boo}
I'll tell you why...it's because they are sugarless sweets
...sweets without sugar?
{what would my grandma say about that!?}
I thought I would give them a chance...
their pretty pink wrappers where calling my name!
yes.. I would buy anything and I mean anything if it was packaged up pretty
... just look at the sweet white dots on those candy wrappers...
*sigh*
{can't you just see me in a little pink blouse with sleeves just like that}
"looks can be deceiving"
boondoggled again!
{boondoggle: to deceive or attempt to deceive}
When will I ever learn?

how sneaky of them to package them so
seductively!

Looks can be deceiving, because I would probably buy them since the wrapping is so pretty.

Lol... thats funny, not so much that you got "tricked" but that you had such a strong reaction to it. But I totally understand... I am quite serious about my sweets too :) And would have felt quite betrayed that they were so disappointing! :)

Koraleeeee, so much recognition. Love it! Those sweets are the sweetest indeed, wrapping things up pretty can cover a lot, but sooner or later the facade will drop. Your writing is adorable. Did you already start writing in.... ?
Wishing you a marvelous weekend, my friend. xx

I see a permanent darling display dish somewhere with uneaten candies. :)

Disappointing indeed! However, on the bright side, perhaps you can recycled the wrappers into a piece of art?

Thanks for the heads up, Koralee! I have often been seduced by the packaging and left wanting! However, since I am going to Weight Watchers, perhaps they are the perfect choice for my candy dish! Pretty to look at and no temptation! :)
Blessings!

Not only were you boondoggled, and hornswoggled, you my dear were most definitely "BAMBOOZLED"...
Those little pink Scallywags "Hoodwinked" my sweet friend, when all she wanted was the comfort of " a little pink polka dot candy...I feel your pain. We at R&R only serve an assortment of "perfectly PINK jelly beans"...What you see, is what you get.
Do not let "this" this twisted plot, this conspiracy of great magnitude spoil a day, that could so very possibly be sunny...put on a brave face, go forth and have the happiest of days.
Smile on...Rosie...xoxo

So funny! Just hearing the word "boondoggle" took me back to being a little girl in New York ... summer day camp making boondoggles! So I liked this post!!! :)

I liked your picture, your comparison of the blouse sleeves with the candy wrappers - very cute and clever!

And I am SO with you on "sugar free" candy (or cakes) of any sort just not measuring up to the real deal!

HI KORALEE,
I DON'T THINK I WOULD LIKE THAT KIND OF CANDY, EVEN THE CANDY WITH THE ARTIFICIAL SUGAR ISN'T THAT GREAT, BUT I MUST SAY THE WRAPPINGS ARE PRETTY. :) RIZZI

Well, they say you can't tell a book by its cover. I guess it can also be true of pink candies. No sugar? Boring will put them out of business.

Koralee that is why I stick to chocolate...those hard candies in the pretty wrappers have fooled me enough :D
Get yourself a styrafoam cone (tree shape) and glue those babies on...add some stings of pink pearls from the $ store, some extra baubles and call it a centerpiece...
I apologize :D that was nasty :D

How can a man-made sweetener possibly compare with that from nature...sheesh when will we ever learn?

Sue said...

Oh...pretty yes, but sugarless candy never tastes good. I'd rather have an apple if I don't want sugar, or eat the real stuff...just less of it! I don't even try the sugarless or fat free things anymore...ick!

Oh, I was going to say that I remember those little goodies as a child, but who in their right mind would make candy without sugar??????? Oh dearest one, your photos are always lovely, even if it is of such a disappointment!

Carry on! Anita

Hi Koralee,

How disappointing indeed ... and so often you can't judge a book by the cover.
Pretty photo though and loved the thought of having a puffy sleeve blouse, like the wrapper.
