oh Koralee, your lilacs are stunning!
May always makes me smile because it usually means cherries and first of the season fava beans...not to mention the increasing warmth of days!

Bisous to you lovely friend!

Oh I love May too! Mother's Day, my beautiful grandmother's birthday, outside BBQ's, planting flowers and watching last year's perennials come forth once more, my kids giggling as they run through the sprinklers, the end of school and the beginning of summer, and evening walks with my husband as we follow our girls on their bikes. I just sighed a contented sigh. :)

I just picked a HUGE bouquet of lilacs the other day - they are just coming on here. My house smells heavenly. They are the best (along with sweet peas).

I love lilacs too. They make me think of my college years. There were hundreds of lilac bushes on the campus, thanks in part to an alumni planting program.

I was over reading Elyse's blog and she linked to yours. I just adore your blog, the colors, the eye candy. I love lilacs, they are one of my favorites. I was just browsing your posts and I saw the one with boots. I thought this girl is truly a kindred spirit. I took my daughter's barn boots and a bouquet of flowers and photographed them for some quotes and words for today's post.

Have a lovely evening.

Lilacs are my Mom's fave and I planted her a Lilac bush for Mother's Day about ten years ago---it blooms beautifully every year. The smell reminds me of my childhood. Great post!

Yipee... I'm back from Spain. What a nightmare that was. A visit to BlueBird Notes is just the ticket tonight for me to get back into the swing of things. Our Lilacs will be popping soon as we hit the 90s today. Summer is offically here. Great pics as always, my sweet Koralee. Perfect snaps to hit the hay with in my dreamie head.

Oh if only Lilacs would grow in the Desert! *winks* I do remember their Heavenly scent when we lived in a climate they thrived in. One of my fav May scents would have to be Acacia Blossoms, they look like little puff balls on the Trees, which are quite thorny and drought tolerant, but put forth such delightfully fun blooms with a sweet and Heavenly scent that carried through the air!

Blessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian

Ah lilac blossom, I could drink in their scent all day. The wisteria and laburnums are flowering their generous pendulus pea flowers wafting in the breeze too! It is a magical month May!
"It's May, it's May the lusty month of May
The lusty month of May!
That lovely month when ev'ryone goes
Blissfully astray.
Tra la! It's here!
That shocking time of year
When tons of wicked little thoughts
Merrily appear!
It's May! It's May!
That gorgeous holiday

Hey K
I love May! (and not just because it's my birthday...and yours too huh?)
Here you can really believe summer weather is on it's way by May (although for the last 2 years it's also been over by the end of May!) and because we always take our annual holiday...16 sleeps to go!!!
Lovely pictures, know I always say that, but THEY ARE!

For all the same lovely memories as you dearest; pink blooms and new life...but I speak of my years in Boston and here in Minneapolis. Growing up in L.A. didn't offer change of season..just from HOT to HOT to WINDY! So May is a season of change. HOW ARE YOU FEELING? I AM GREAT! What a trip to the doctor can do for your mind as well! Just waiting for test results of mammography and other issues....but the hips and leg are better!

CARRY ON and have FUNNNNN! Anita

The weather is realy unbelievable overhere .
Looks like the most beautiful warm summer for weeks now . So wonderful .
Your Lilacs remind me of long ago .
I visited my younger sister and we looked at old pictures from when we were young . Oh my ... I was 11 when she was born so I am her big sister . She lives near the seaside . My parents lived there too .
I visited the grave and put some beautiful flowers there for mothersday .
Sadly she cannot meet her great-grandchild .
She would have loved that .

Adore seeing those buds, Koralee. We used to have a home in Michigan that was surrounded with lilac bushes. Some clever previous owner had planted them. Nothing more lovely when they're all in bloom!

Adore your lilac photos!

I would love a lilac bush! Every spring, when my neighbour's begins to bloom, I'm reminded of this. And then summer comes and goes, and the following May, I say "I really should have got one last year" and then summer comes and goes...well, you can see where this is going. I really should just go and get one! :)

I love lilacs. At this house we only have one fairly new (not large yet) bush of white ones. The rain got to them this year before I did. Lilacs remind me of the May baskets that I always left my mom on the door on May 1st.

Hi Koralee,

Just read some of your words in Matthew Meads magazine :-)! Such an honour and what a beautiful magazine. So stylish!

Ohhh, what I like about May: the birdsong, the sunshine, the new green, the flowers, walking barefoot, wearing summerdresses, eating outside once again, open doors and windows, sitting on a terrace....I could go on and on....Such a lovely month :-)!

Happy evening!

Lieve groet, Madelief xox

So lovely!! I can almost smell a whiff of lilacs wafting toward me as I type this. :)
My Grammie had a whole wall of lilacs in the backyard when I was a girl. I would climb the nearby crab-apple tree and just take in the sights and smells of wonderful Spring. :)
I love your pictures. A perfect combination of prints and colors and nature. :) :) :)
Blessings!

Oh, my lilacs are blooming, too! May is one of my favorite months: Mother's Day and My Mother's Birthday! She said she always remembered how her mom said she remembered the scent of the lilacs blooming outside her bedroom window as she birthed my mom! (Home birth back then...) On May 23 this year my precious mother will celebrate 84 years....and the lilacs are still blooming.... Hugs, Heidi
