My friend, I think I'm see you get a smidge of Hook fever here tonight. You know once you start you can never go back. What a fabulous idea.

Ohhh, I love the hanger idea, as well as the bracelets. I may have to try that sometime, it looks so delicate. The scarf also gives me a good idea. Thank you for sharing all this inspiration! Have a wonderful Friday (can you believe it's the end of the week already? wow). Xoxo

I just love lace in any form.. neat idea to cover a hanger with one. I did lace edging for my antique oak china cabinets for all 3 of the shelves.. looks so pretty.
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Oh my gosh, I have been working with doilys all week - making aprons and pillowcase dresses for my Etsy shop, (would love to have you visit:
www.etsy.com/shop/LindaBloom (shameless plug)
Anyway, I know what you mean about not wanting to cut into them. I made myself a promise not to cut unless they are stained or damaged, otherwise I use them whole. When I think about the women who painstakingly did this work, I feel we should preserve it as best we can, because there won't be any more. ( took a six week tatting class once and nearly went mad! I don't know how they did it.) I enjoyed your blog this week! Love, Linda

Your doilies look so sweet hanging there ready for you to create with. Have fun with them! I have some of these images saved from the pages of Country Living. They spoke to me then, and still do! They are all such beautiful projects.

Koralee,
Me, too. I am crazy about doilies! I also like to dye them different colors...but that is a whole other addiction. I got two dollar birds at Michaels and covered them with doilies but I can't think of anything clever for their wings :-(
I keep repinning your things on Pinterest, You have great taste!
Hugs,
Suz

Lovely doily inspiration. A friend visited New Mexico where there is much inspiration to be found in the craft and art world. She saw plain chunky bracelets wrapped with funky yarns and is already planning to make some. Think I'll hook up some doilies today. Have a fabulous Friday. Tammy

Doilies! I have so many, thrift shops send their surplus oversees, it ends up in huge piles in the markets, and I end up buying them! My mother was the crochet queen as you know, but not me! So I buy the ones other grannies have made, along with lots of embroidered stuff, now you are giving me amazing ideas. Remember Mom starching them with sugar water to make them stiff! Lovely blog, as always!

Now, Cleggy has been away on business for the past few days and, as always, I have been playing at working in the workshop.
I have one afternoon left before he's home...do I
a) do the housework (my other job!) so we can all relax at the weekend with clean clothes for monday
b) get out said doilleys and make hangers

Tough call. Maybe c) is run round the house like a lunatic for an hour stuffing things in cupboards...then make hangers!

Thank you for all the inspiration!

WEEKEND!!! hooray!

YEAH FOR FRANCIS!!!!!! Oh I adore her. And your dollies my friend....my momma used to make the most gorgeous ones, and being the hyper kid and dancer that I was (and still am!), I never sat down long enough for her to be able to teach me how to do it. I love these ideas! ARE YOU HAVING FUN YET DEAREST? TODAY is my first day of freedom and I don't know where to begin!

BIG HUGS, Anita
