i really love the lay out of this post, with this gorgeous text on beautiful pictures... i’d like to stop at the first line and think that joy is infectious.. x sandra
Koralee.. this is so good to hear. I got a really negative email this morning from someone who picked apart a recent picnic activity and it had me really down. But you're right.. don't let the haters get you down! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Oh-What a beautifully written piece. I love it- and isn't that the truth? Under every joy lies a bit of melancholy waiting to rear its sad, ugly head. I think my folks (the Irish) are a melancholy bunch- xo Diana
HI SWEETIE!!! I am indeed JOYFUL...I try everyday to make a joyful noise unto the lord.....I have ears listening....if I say a word...it gets repeated eventually.....My Grand daughter was away over the weekend and came home with a new phrase....OH MY GXX....that is not nice....I said to her....we say Oh My Gosh....or OH my word...so I speak a little kinder this days!!! Hugs 2 U, jamie
It's okay to feel a bit melancholy sometimes when you are all alone. But when it comes to sharing with the world and those around you, it's definitely best to exude and share joy. Happy August! Tammy
Wow, how strange, it's as if this post was made for me. 'A gloomy state of mind'... So well said... The weather, the circumstances, everything really, has me feeling a bit melancholic today, but I won't let it get the better of me, I promise. White chocolate, Pomegranate and a recipe should get me going again ;-) Thanks for your post. Beautiful text. Want to read that book actually. See, already feeling the joy ;-) Bye, Marian
Melancholy is like clouds traveling through a blue sky. They come and they go, but they are vapors. Yes, vapors that can be torrential rain storms and often deadly. But they pass but the blue sky and the dark night are permanent promises of a living and LOVING embrace that will never let us go or allow us to miss out on THE JOY!!!! Have a joyful read my friend! Anita
Yes, humming with joy here today, dear Koralee!! But the quote about melancholy does capture a universal truth in it's subtle wording..... turning to joy is always the way to close out that sneaky melancholy. Enjoy your book, it does sound wonderful, I will look for it:) Wishing you a joyful day! Helen x
Hello Koralee...It's always a real joy to visit you here....a real tonic to deal with gloomy melancholy!...Your book looks a lovely read and I Iove your pics as always... Hope you have a HaPpY WeEkEnD! Susan x
Keeping busy...that's the key to avoiding melancholy! But sometimes it does sneak up on us. :( Haven't read this book yet...will put it on my list for Kindle. Have a wonderful weekend, Koralee!
Isn't that the truth! Looks like a book worth reading if she writes like that. I'm always looking for a good book and love ones recommended by friends. Thank you!
Good morning Koralee! These are beautiful and very wise words! I never thought of melancholy as being "sneaky" but you are so right! I think this is why filling our souls and hearts with gratitude is the key to keeping our joy. So important to make it a daily habit.
We're still enjoying our time with Jason ... It's quiet right now ~ everyone is still a bunch of sleepy heads! It's been so nice to "stop by" your sweet Bluebird Notes ~ Have a beautiful weekend ~ may your cup be filled with overflowing joy, always! ~ Maria
it is my goal to choose joy. i remember traveling to work on the train. a lady sitting in front said, "are you humming?" annoyance in her voice. i said I don't know was I? she was so perturbed.
