Christmas Countdown.....

three "Silent Night" snowballs glowing
we are well into week three
how can that be ?
really ?
truly ?

so for week 3 lets celebrate with a charming little treat......

Silent Night Snowballs

My friend Carol shares this sweet Christmas Eve family tradition of hers
in my Ice Cream book that will be out on shelves this coming Spring
~this is just a wee little sneak peek of what's to come in my book~

Carol starts with vanilla ice cream that she shapes into balls
then rolls in coconut
adds some holly and a candle
then refreezes until frozen solid
just before serving she
places each snowball on a little paper doily

why the candle you say?

well.......
 the candles are lit
lights are dimmed
and the procession begins with
the singing of
"Silent Night"

simply charming
{thanks for sharing Carol}

{xox}

make it a good week dear friends

HERE I AM, after having taught yesterday and coming home rather exhausted! Teaching math in French is quite fun but an exercise for the brain!

OK, first of all, I must tell you how I spent my evening after dinner:

CHOCOLATE MINT ROOIBOS TEA....I WAS IN TEA HEAVEN, KORALEE! I could not wait to tell you! I can drink a whole pot of that RIGHT NOW!

NOW for this inventive and unbelievably cute snowball.....I think I am making this for guests next week. My freezer freezes ice cream nicely so this will work. I love the candles, and the joy of warm and cold together is perfectly presented in these adorable bundles!

YOU BRING me so much joy my sweet bluebird!

Now to go get a cup of Santa's Surprise this morning! LOVE! Anita

Oh I love these SNOWBALLS KORALEE!

Oh my dearest, your weekend is going to be absolutely exciting with going to get your TREE AND THEN TO GET MOLLY!! Now that enough is a Christmas Day and gift! I am so excited for you! My writing class is winding down and so are my orders, except for one BIG ONE for a store window here. I am very happy because I got at least ONE room decorated !! I have two more to go and then I am done. But TEA will be a big part of my weekend for sure, since I do have some writing to finish. ALl of us students in this class I am taking are invited to read our essays in the great auditorium for a public reading at the end of the month. I AM EXCITED!

Now I wish you a fabulous Friday my dearest Koralee! Cheers to you with my mug of DAVID'S TEA!! Anita

I cannot thank you enough for posting this! Back in the late 80's, my mother used to buy snow ball icecream treats at the store for Christmas eve, they even came packaged with the little candle and holly leaf topper. She would light them and carry them out to the dark living room with just the tree lights on. She passed away in 92, just before I turned 10. I never had another, or found another store that carried them. I have 3 children now, and have always wanted to share this with them. Thank you and your friend for posting this. I finally get to pass on one of my very favorite Christmas traditions to my children.
