Oh my, how on earth did you make this awesome image? Those bright colors ... and what gorgeous colors! About your words, thank you so so much for remembering. I have to learn that it's good to say ~no~ every now and then. Have a happy day, sweet friend. xoxoxo
I think it is such a wonderful gift to yourself to be able to say no. I wish I would have learned while my daughter was growing up. Oh, the time spent helping on fundraisers boggles the mind. I've got it down now though (only a teeny bit of guilt). It's never too late! Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving such a sweet comment. The image is very cool.
I agree with Julie up there you cannot do it all,no is good when youve done your best and need some rest, lol.Love the photo and the gorgeous blue rose!
Learning how to say "no" was the best thing I ever did. I sort of had to age into it...now, I have no problem with it at all:)
I'm still in Florida with my mom...will be here a while. She is still in the hospital, but making progress. I'm gradually going to read a blog or 2, snapping pictures for when I can stay awake long enough to write something. I just wanted to say "hi"!
Yes!!!! No is hard to say, but can be a relieve sometimes - yes and no are like night and day, no? You inspired me again - and i LOVE that polka dot cup in your new profile picture ;)
Oh, right on. I have had to write down statements and hang them up on my fridge to remind me that I don't always have to say "YES". Things like " I wish I could, but I won't be able to right now". I do have that one memorized. Thank heavens.
I read something profound which I often remember: each time we say "no" to something it is also a big "yes" since it allows us to say yes to something else. Isn't that way cool? I'm backing you up here on saying "no" sometimes.
Hi Koralee... Don't you think, as we get older, it's easier and easier to say no? When my children were in their teens, their youth pastor once said: There are many 'good' things to say 'yes' to, but not all of them are the 'best' choice for this moment.
I woke up one day, years ago, and realized that it's okay to "pass the baton" and move onward to either something new or to freedom.
I have also learned that some things are very costly time-wise, but produce "little fruit."
Can you tell I've thought of this topic a bit ;o) Peace to you always ~ Maria
o.k...i just found your blog and just LOVE all the bright cheerful colors you got goin on here...and when i saw you had 777 followers...i decided you needed one more! happy spring to ya! erin
I am just learning to say "no" more and more...it has taken some time though...and now I have to learn NOT to feel so guilty for doing so. Thanks for this beautiful and meaningful post. Cheers:) Debbie
Such a great and difficult lesson to learn, for sure! I am much better at knowing what I really want to be involved in as I get older, I imagine when I'm 80 I'll be truly a genuine person! Ha! Suzie
Koralee... I think we spent our twenties trying to say yes to everyone and everything, only to learn that it's just too taxing on ourselves! Then in our thirties, we learn that saying no is not a sign of failure or inability on our part, but rather it is a sign of maturity, of learning how to stay within our own limits, but I think that we may still hold on to the guilt part a little more than we should...
perhaps freedom from this guilt is finally released in our fourties! I'll let you know when I get there in five years! lol
ciao bella very simple, very beautiful and insightful!
We women are such "pleasers"...(ok, spell check is telling me that's not even a word)...but we totally don't want to inconvenience anyone ...and what if someone were actually offended ...oh the guilt!...in the mean time, they will commit us to a sanitarium (because we are completely exhausted, and have had a nervous break down ...ok, I think that it might be alright to say "No", "I must decline, this time" or "maybe next time"...yes, we might all be the better for it...thank you, Koralee for inspiring some "self~help" ...apparently I was in need...love Rosie
Hello Koralee, Your image is so beautiful, I could stare at it all day!! I love to say 'Yes' as often as possible and when it the right thing to say...of course it is not too good to say 'yes' every time my kids ask for more candy :)...then it is a big NO. My business gets asked on a daily basis to do something in our community and town for various organizations.( donate our services) I now only volunteer our services when it is benefitting someone in need or something historical...otherwise I say no! I need all of my free time for my family and various charities that are in need of my help..( I will coordinate and host events to raise money but I say no if it isn't going to help someone than my business isn't a free service) It is funny the things I get asked to do by people I hardly know! Being able to say no is something that has come much easier to me in my 40's.. Have a lovely Easter xoxo Bunny

I have the hardest time saying "no" to anyone and everyone. I've been working on that for years now... Since high school actually.
Oh wait, I must go. Someone was asked to borrow my computer. ;)
P.S. I'm having a little giveaway on my blog, and I'd love if you have a chance to stop by!
True, true. Cute photo! Love it. :)

True! Why is that so hard to do?
I think saying "no" is definately the most difficult, but said in the right way it makes you stronger. Karen.
Amen to that!!
Have a wonderful day!!

YES! THAT IS SO RIGHT! Once in a while to say no is for your own good!

'no' has saved my life a few times!
i love the story of the two brothers.
one always said, "yes," but never
followed through.
the other said, "no," but eventually
would obey.
blessings,
lea
A wonderful reminder!
Absolutely Koralee! It took me a very long time to learn that it was ok to say no and not feel bad about it...
The older I get, the easier it is to say no. Unless it's a child or a close friend, or new fabric, yarn, teacups, oh brother :)

Thoe flowers sure brightened up my day!!!
Sometimes I try to remember saying "No" means saying "YES" to time with my family. :) But I do like to say "yes" too!
So very true Koralee - and vice versa too sometimes - like saying yes to lots of easter eggs, also without the guilt!!
how true! i often struggle with saying no, too.
Aah the power of saying 'no'
Have a lovely Easter Koralee and thanks for stopping by Cornflake.
p.s. great profile pic!

Saying "no" isn't always so difficult... without guilt..that is the hard part!
I have found that it is often wise to say, "I'd like some time to think {pray} about it," before overcommitting.
Love your colorful flower pic. Wondering how it is made.
Blessings!
So so true! but often so so hard.
I hope you have a lovely easter weekend Koralee :)

A very good reminder indeed! And sometimes 'no' is the best answer for the person who is asking ~ especially if it is our children! :)
