remember this cake?

this was my last years Valentine project

I dragged some of you into this project with me

we struggled with this one together

that's what friends do best

 it was no easy feat getting that heart perfectly centred in that cake

it was just by pure luck that I had sweet victory

not to worry my sweet friends there is no challenge in

the works this year

but I know if I had something up my sleeve

you guys would be right there with me

that's what friends do best

I am happy to report I am feeling 80% better

my weekend was all about

stirred with huge amounts of

blessing....meeting a sweet blogging friend face to face

for the very first time

comfort.....feeling so much love and a familiar closest from

our hugs that we just did not want to let each other go

{she was like hugging the softest warmest blanket on the coldest winter's day}

joy.....realizing that this friend is a sweet kindred spirit...so much so

that I felt like I knew her once before and we had just been reunited

Girl Talk

Once upon a time

the only way we could communicate with

our girlfriends

was by

telephone

as a teen
I would sit for hours in one spot
...no multi tasking could be done
because you couldn't go anywhere
....you were connected to the wall
...unless you were one of the lucky ones that had a phone
with a
mile long cord
{about the only thing you could do was paint your toes}


we would pour our hearts out to each other
talking about
our school day
boys
social events
big things and little things
and any another intimacies
that friends might share

Girl Talk

I remember my ear being so sore
from holding the receiver to it
for hours upon hours
My dad repeatedly asking me to get off the phone...
wondering what was wrong with me ?
I had just spent a whole day at school with the same girl
who was on the other end of the receiver!
Parents never understood!

I would finally say goodbye
only to call her back again in an hour...
to start the girl talk all over again

Do you remember what it was like before
computers....texting.... twitter...etc?
When you just had to talk to your bestest buddy in the whole wide world!


I think that is why I love my blue phone so much
it reminds me of these girl talk times
plus the ring is so so amazingly cool!

this past week

as I walked the

"road of everyday life "

I stumbled upon some amazing treasures

as the saying goes...

Finders Keepers

{but I will gladly share with you all}

my heart melted as me feet took me

into the children's area of Ikea

where I came across these oh so adorable wall stickers

{which are a decent size}

I named this mouse "millie"



this is "max"
{I think they need to make themselves at home on my classroom wall this year at school}

This week when the doorbell rang

my feet scampered down the stairs

to find

a friend who really cares

{carol}

she presented me with this amazingly lovely vintage bag

{a short story...once when our feet where out and about together wondering through

the local thrift stores I mention to her I was looking for one of these

lovely Mexican bags.....well she remembered!....of course she remembered...She's Carol}

Thank you my friend...I heart you!

when my feet took me to the mailbox this week

they found another treasure waiting

my etsy order had arrived from
